Also, Starboard II hasn't received any reviews as of late, and I think it's one of the best I've ever done. https://psychephilia.bandcamp.com/album/starboard-ii

Daydream Society's The Blinding an album by the esteemable YorkeDaddy. (Ambient, Electronic, Post-Rock, Experimental)
Spoiler for album cover:
Alleyways to Infinity: Soft music (is that guitar?). We get some electronica. Interesting track. Has some fun unique qualities. Isolation Test: Some acoustic guitar. Electronica comes in. Seems like you're trying to experimenting more here. Enjoyed this track. Cellar Dweller: Dug the way the song started. I like how these songs start soft and progress into something a bit more distorted. Hesitation: Interesting way to start. Not sure what is happening, but it's cool. You seem to be experimenting way more on this track. Nervous Suystem: Video game music! You get more experimental as the track goes on. Gaze: Good track. Solar Cryonics: Really like the darkness in this track. This is my favorite track so far. Lucid Alive: I like the more psychedelic feel in this track. Echo Emissions: Drums? I don't think I've heard any drums on here. Nice use of the drums, I wish they were a little louder. Oh, I really like this guitar here. This track is better then solar cryonics. Luminescence: Good song. Dream Craving: Good song. Final thoughts: I'm going to be frank. This album started out strong but as it went on it started to just not be as good. the last two tracks felt more like a chore rather than a enjoyable listen. It's a good album, but I think it went on two tracks longer than it needed to. Not to say those last two tracks were bad, they weren't, but I think I had grown tired of this particular sound by the end. Favorite track: Echo Emissions |

Trouble Salad (Mondo) - Rigged Election https://troublesalad.bandcamp.com/album/rigged-election 1. Man We Fear: Very fast-paced, aggressive track with some cool jam sessions and interesting psychedelic sounds lobbed at you at points. It's weirdly cohesive yet not, which doesn't make sense but it's the only way I can describe how the pieces fit together. Man there's just a whole bunch of **** going on in this track and it's hard to keep track of it all, but it's melded together masterfully and makes for an extremely rewarding listen. 2. Rabid: Definitely loving the patriotic-ish samples being used, can't wait for more of that. Oh man what a sick effect by having that fade out and the synthy stuff fade in kind of simultaneously. Goes on for a bit being spooky and having some vocals in the background that I think is Mondo himself. Love the change around the 3 minute mark with that wobbly drone. 3. Internal Buffet: Great use of the radio guy talking. Keeps the whole album feeling more thematically consistent, and the music feeling cohesive throughout so far helps too of course. Love the percussion around 3:30 adding a new element and kind of a tribal feel to the song, which is great right after the radio guy just talked about the kids getting beaten at a football game and there being marches by liberals and whatnot. Nice softer bassy section a couple minutes later. 4. Oswald Rides the Train: Still loving the disconnect between the old-ass recordings and the electronic music. This one almost feels a little dancey at first. Solid track that flew by a bit. 5. Freedom Sand: This one has a similar feel as the rest of the album which is a good thing. Really cool guitar sound comes in during the second half for a little while. 6. Wall Made of Lizards: Ohhhh nice, this takes on a new sound from the rest of the album but still feels like it fits with the overarching themes. Nice spooky intro, some dark tribal sounds follow that. Great mood around the 2 minute mark with the ambient with whispers in the background. 7. Emigre: This is a song. It is on this album. It sounds like the other songs. 8. Build the Machine: Alright time for the big boy. Really cool track pretty much the whole time. Love the tropical vibes with the guitar halfway through. One of the better tracks here Verdict: Loved it. Great stuff. Cohesive feel, conveys a theme (at least to me), great album cover...all-around one of the top releases by a MusicBanter member ever. 9/10
