You could just use this tbh. No one really cares as long as it's forum member stuf.

Da blinding
This album starts off with a downright heavy and nice track. After the synth intro it kicks into full throttle, heavy distorted guitar for the foundation, with some industrial beats laid over it. The main synth lines also going right now are alright, not too special, kinda generic sounding, but it adds to everything else nicely. The drums disperse for percussionless and deeply layered synth segue... But then it ends, so I guess that wouldn't qualify as a segue. It sounded like it could've gone back into the heavy stuff.* Synth intros again, more distorted base tracks underneath. The second track meanders into some cool high pitched drones while synthesizer melodies weave back and forth. The drum beat in this one is pretty good too. Distortion and feedback fade the track away. I really enjoy this album for all that distorted stuff, it's a lot more prevalent than the other albums I've heard. The next track is more downtempo, with a jazzy sounding drum pattern going on. Beneath it all is the feedback, much subtler on this track. It starts to get louder and more eclectic now, and there's this really amazing delay-y riff being repeated, and it's definitely one of the prime moments of the album. It would soon fade the track away on it's own. One of the best on the album, the drones presented are oh so wonderful.* Next track starts out a bit whacky, with some notes being hit over this odd little noise loop. More weird loops come around, while the piano plays an almost dissonant piece. This track might be the most dissonant I've heard from you. Pretty cool little thing. Some more whacky synth kicks off the next track and soon a fairly large sounding drone enters the fray. More really great, warm, and super pleasing distortion as mentioned before. It really makes the album I think, and turns it from what would be more generic synth stuff into a whole new beast, and it adds so much substance. Next track calls upon more piano phrases layered on top of each other. Some of these notes are modulated way more than others for psychedelic variety. It's a decent interlude kind of track. The next starts out real deep, a bit dark too. Some low frequency notes would soon be joined with a very urgent sounding piano, then a thick blanket of deep ambience and quiet percussion. This one has a feel different from the rest of the album thus far. Fuzzy notes play over a bouncy beat to the end.* The next track starts out sounding very much like Daydream Society. Imagine that. You've got your own recognizable sound. This phat riff comes in for a little bit until twinkly synths take over, and transform into a cavernous droney resonance to finish it up.* This next track, Echo Emissions, is seriously fantastic. The clean synth might be a bit louder than I'd go for, but it's not that bad. The lush distortion guitar in this one makes it very shoegaze-esque. There's more super nice and super thick melodies throughout, all in all really great, another standout. Next is a solid, retro sounding electro track, it has a unique beat compared to some of your others. Now the closer, Dream Carving, another totally stellar standout. A lot if spacey sounds coupled with these ultra awesome dissonant synths. Reminds me if Tycho a bit. It's mainly another atmospheric track, but it's gorgeous, and as a closer to the album it works wonders. So that was pretty much all praise, the stuff that was good was great, and even the low points were still decent. My negative feedback goes to the entire album's production. I'm not saying it's bad by any means, but I'm thinking, some of this music is really really great and would benefit from a bigger sound. Like, a huge sound. Some of this definitely deserves it. With this album, we've got a pretty nice display of musical ideas, but with the... Like, thin and small sound (I tried to think of something not negative but it still sounds like it), it doesn't reach the potential that I bet it would, with full, maximum epic production. I still could see me listening to it regularly. 10/10 for what it could be, 8.75/10 for what it is. |

yay the wait was worth
Interesting points on the production. I think I'm always overly worried about making a track too loud. I should probably let it loose a bit more especially in the meatier sections with heavy distortion. Maybe I could remaster the album a bit and make it better. Or I could just move onto the next one...lol thats prolly what ill do
