Musical Research
Hello everyone, I'm gaurdianAQ and I'm a bit new here.
I'm hoping to do a youtube series where I talk about different music genres, their history, the technical side of the genre (as in what physically makes it that genre from a musical theory stand point) how that genre has changed/evolved as well as the demographics of who listens to that genre. I don't know if I'll ever get the idea off the ground but I'm looking to do some research. I was hoping maybe some people here might be able to suggest some good reading/research material to look into. I need suggested reading on Musical Theory, the technical side of playing various instruments and such (how chords, harmonies, and such work) and possibly if anyone has any suggested reading on what makes up a metal song (my first video will be about metal) Was also wondering if anyone knew any good sites for reading up on the history of music and genres and such. If anyone knows any good sites for researching demographical data that would be awesome... Thanks to anyone in advance who helps! Hopefully my post came across somewhat coherent, it's currently 2:30 so I'm a little tired. |

We have some decent guides here, and of course talking to members is probably the best way to get an insight. Try starting here
