Girlschool is way more fun and badass than Manowar ever was. And with a little tag-team assistance from Motorhead, I think their victory is more than assured.

I love Girlschool, but they are a pop band with a few Motorhead riffs. Manowar are a True Metal band with balls the size of our dearly departed Twin Towers.

They did what they wanted, without worrying if what they were doing was "Punk", "Metal", or "Pop", whereas Manowar couldn't get over their masculinity issues and limited themselves to a single genre that was already artistically limited to begin with. Girlschool had true courage, while Manowar were just overcompensating twats. The comparison is not unlike that of you and Trollheart; you aren't afraid to try new things and admit that you like something, even if it seems unbecoming of your persona (like Kate Bush and Britney Spears), whereas Trollheart pretends to accept recommendations when deep down he will always hate everything but Prog, and refuses to enjoy anything new beyond reason (bastard won't even give Office Space a chance). Face it; Girlschool is your spirit animal.

If you can come up with a legitimate reason why Manowar is better than The Doors…

This is a gross misrepresentation and oversimplification of my music tastes, and I am offended. I'd have been perfectly willing to vote for Led Zeppelin IV on the proto-metal battle in the Metal Album Survivor thread, if more of the album was like "Black Dog", and less like "Going to California". Somebody needed to tell that band that their attempts at folk were inconsistent at best.

Batty don't get used to it, but Manowar is one of the very few bands/groups that I can say that I pretty much like all of their stuff.

I think that enjoying an artist ironically is one of the most obnoxious things a person can do.

Liking Manowar unironically is surprisingly (but not really) at least five times as obnoxious as that.
