If you'd read my journal over the years you'd have seen me review classical and other instrumental albums, and note that they're very hard to review, as unless you're a musician it's hard to get across the feel of an album without any lyrics. I don't hate instrumental albums; I listen to a lot of them. But they do need to interest me, especially for reviews. With a vocal, I can hear what the guy/girl is singing about and it engages me more. While I love classical music, some electronic, soundtracks etc,. I find them all very difficult to properly review. Like I said, I would listen to Herbie in the background, but ask me to describe the music and I would, as you saw, have a problem. I did. I never said I didn't like any instrumental albums, but I need to feel it. I didn't with our man Herb. Quote:
