Yeah it just didn't speak to me. Surprised to see that it was a single: the only track on the album I didn't love. Great album though. Thanks for the rec!

Special Note: Icons don't get a free ride here.
You can all see that Iggy is up next, and while I know he's a legend and virtually invented punk, I know little to nothing of his work. I may of course love the album, but I want everyone to know that I intend to review it as any other; the fact that he is such a giant will not push me towards softening my response to what I hear. If I hate it, I'll hate it and I'll say so. Should this happen, it should not be taken as any sort of denigration of his place in musical history: I'm fully aware of the icon he is, but as it says above, even icons don't get a free ride here and everyone will be treated equally. See you after the review!

Let him choose what he masturbates to.

Did I not say that was what I was going to do? There's no case of "James Brown being released from prison because he's James Brown" here...

![]() ![]() Title: Sacred White Noise Artiste: Thantifaxath Genre: Black Metal Familiarity: Zero Note: Interestingly, it seems all three members of this band want to remain anonymous. Apparently this includes live sessions: how they do this is beyond me, unless they wear disguises? 1. The bright white nothing at the end of the tunnel: Great mad start on what sounds like keys then the guitars come in, drums crash in like falling boulders and finally there's the voice I love so well ![]() 2. Where I end and the hemlock begins: The opening of this song is ****ing fantastic! Really dramatic and portentous. Excellent atmospheric guitar and it slows down almost as if this was on an ipod with one percent power left and draining (I;d say like a record at 16rpm but only us oldies would get that reference!) then it speeds up again. Very aggressive, very powerful, very very good. 3. Gasping in darkness: Yeah, love everything about this so far. No complaints. 4. Eternally falling: See, again the opening here is pure progressive metal/rock, or at least ambient. Me likee. Instrumental. And talk about conjuring up the feeling in the title! A perfect job, absolutely perfect. Favourite so far. 5. Panic becomes despair: As if he feels left out from not singing, the unknown vocalist is back with the first note of this song and it's a fast, powerful, aggressive assault with certainly an edge of panic in it. Now, I'm listening to it at the moment so I don't know, but if it slows down near the end I'll be very impressed as this will be a musical representation of panic becoming despair, a fast-beating heart slowing down in acceptance of its fate. We're about halfway through now so... well look at that! It's slowing right down! GMTA people, GMTA! Well, maybe not quite. I would have preferred a really slow, doomy, dark ending but it seems to be slower but still pretty uptempo for the ... yeah but then right at the end it finishes on a long-drawn-out guitar chord, so you know, maybe. Anyway great track. 6. Lost in static between worlds:Now that definitely sounds like cello to me. This track is eleven minutes long; somehow I don't think it's going to seem like that. These guys really know how to build up an atmosphere. Even when the vocals come in it's at the perfect time. Excellent closer. End result: Really enjoyed that. Would I call it Black Metal? Well, vocalwise and with the power of the guitars, yes, but I'd really refer to it more as something like Progressive Black Metal or Symphonic Black Metal. So, Love or Hate? An absolute Love. It would be a True Love, but I can't get past those vocals. I can stand them, sure, but they're not what I enjoy listening to. Everything else here is gold though.

It's got more to do with the fact that you felt the need to say it. You really don't. Only a complete moron would have a go at you if they disagree with your personal opinion about an album, legend or not.
