Track 1(Love) Decent opener; slow paced with a sort of soul vibe that reminds me of Prince and Smokey. Maybe a little too much like them...
Track 2 Testify, brother! Love the guitar and the rhythm. Can live without the almost inaudible vocal though. Well ok, the vocal got a bit more intelligible. Lot of Prince in this again. Yeah, it's way too long and I don't really like it. I don't hate it but I sure don't love it.
Track 3(Hate) Oh dear! I really, really don't like his voice. It's like he's trying to be Prince and it does not work. Liking this less and less as it unfolds.
Track 4(Hate) Nah, **** it: if I wanted to listen to Prince I'd listen to Prince. This is terrible so far.
Track 5(Love) Good god! As if the Prince rip off wasn't already too obvious, we have the closing section of “Purple rain” used in the intro! Is this guy taking the piss or what? Nice guitar, whispered vocal, but it's getting hard to take him seriously. All right, this track is actually really nice.
Track 6 This one's not terrible
Track 7(Love) I kind of like this one
Track 8 This one isn't bad; like the bells. It's a little plodding though.
Track 9(Love) Bright, breezy and jazzy, kind of reminds me of George Benson. Not bad. Brass is good too.
Track 10(Love) Now this one I like
Track 11 Not this one though
Track 12 Nice 70s soul feel to it. It's ok, but just that.

End result: Definitely not my thing. Good for what it is I guess, but too much a Prince clone at times for me. Won't be listening to any more from Mr. D'Angelo, that's for sure.

So, Love or Hate? This is a Hate.
