![]() ![]() Title: Tin drum Artiste: Japan Genre: Pop/New Wave Love I've always liked “Ghosts”. Very minimalistic and quite spooky (appropriately); something of a masterpiece for the time. “Canton” is also good. Very good in fact. Nice instrumental. Hate Pretty generic new-wave eighties stuff so far; not as heavily reliant on synth as some of their stablemates, but still nothing too impressive to me. Have never been a fan of David Sylvian's voice. End result: I know Japan from back in my youth, when I reviled anything that was “pop” or at least not rock. Have I changed my mind? Not really: I can see some decent songs here but generally it's the kind of new-wave pop stuff I never cared for. So, Love or Hate? Hate really Chances of a full review: 2/10
