First I ever heard of him was back in 1993 when he played on Vai's Sex and Religion LP.

Being a guy who mostly knows him from Strapping Young Lad, I am amused to think of him on a Steve Vai album.

I've only heard two of Dev's albums, and this one has some great reviews, saying it's his best. Gonna give it a thorough spin or two and see what all the fuss is about. I'm actually on the first track right now, and yup. Lovely textures. I'm gonna enjoy this.

I need help here. (Well, obviously.)
![]() No seriously. I know someone suggested The idler wheel but though I've been through the entire thread three times I can't find the post to determine who it was that suggested it. Little help? I assume I'm just missing it, like a blind spot, every time, but I swear I can't see the post... ![]()

Are you talking to me? If so, I'm not mad about aggressive music though I enjoyed some of the Slayer discog I listened to last year, and I can listen to some aggressive music sure. I don't like punk, what little I've heard of it, but that's not to say there isn't something hidden away in the genre that might appeal to me.
I'm into melody, if that helps you understand me better. Or what I consider melody anyway.

Ah, if you want melody, not liking punk makes sense. Some do have more melody but the majority is not very melodic. Slayer did do a hardcore punk cover album, since they were inspired by Hardcore Punk bands. If you like Slayer you might find some Crossover Thrash (Hardcore Punk + Thrash Metal) band you like. |
