Wait, did you listen to The Smile Sessions or Brian Wilson Presents Smile? If you hate one you'll hate the other, but they're (slightly) different things.

Anyway, I wonder if you'd like The Idler Wheel by Fiona Apple. It's a great album, she can sing, not too experimental, and the percussion reminded me a little of Rain Dogs the first time I heard it. Will you add that to the list?

that's probably a fair statement. I don't like experimental music and so yeah I have nothing to compare it to, but even some of the singing at times was Waitsian.

I looked for one, found the other but I checked Pet_sounds' tracklisting which he sent me via a wiki page and it was virtually the same, except this one hadn't the four instrumentals at the end. I didn't think I was missing anything by not listening to them.

I think I've heard it, but tbh I can't remember so I'll put it on the list.
