Glad you dug it. Anacrusis is easily my fav prog thrash band. They manage to use interesting songwriting, while not only keeping up the intensity, but making their songs catchy as **** to boot. That opening track, "Sound the Alarm" is a serious ear worm that I could listen to on repeat for days.
Don't know if you'd dig their debut though. They still had a progressive edge, but were a pretty brutal death thrash band. Killer though.

Title: Didn't it rain? Artiste: Songs: Ohia Genre: Indie/ Folk/ Alt-Country (?) Familiarity: Zero https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Didn%2...gs:_Ohia_album) Track 1(Love) Nice acoustic folky start; like his voice. Song is very slow and relaxed. Reminds me of a slower early Dan Fogelberg. Track 2(Love) A bit samey if I'm honest Track 3(Love) This is better. Reminds me of Boatman's call-era Cave. Track 4(Love) This one is really good. Again a certain flavour of Cave, which I guess is helped by the violins, but it's more the ambience. Track 5(Love) This has a nice slow blues feel to it. Female duet on the chorus is nice. Could do with something a bit more uptempo at this point though. Track 6(Love) This is a bit better. It's still slowish but has a little more life in it. I was beginning to fall asleep! Horrible memories of Mick Flannery! (See my “Bitesize” journal) Track 7(Love) Yeah it's okay but again it's really slow and downbeat. Don't quite feel like slitting my wrists but ... End result: Following on from the serious headbanging of Anacrusis, this was a real comedown. Not that it was bad; I enjoyed pretty much all of it. But a lot of it was depressing and moody, and it really hardly ever lifted above that level all through the album, though it is at least a short one. A few more upbeat songs, I could have got more into this. Still, for what it was it was good. So, Love or Hate? I sure don't hate it so I guess Love, but another sort of begrudging one. Chances of a full review:0/10

Whenever you're back open for business:
Jar of Flies - Alice in Chains Forgotten how great this is. Spoiler for Spoiler:

^That's a good album, but it's all about Dirt.

Dirt is their mainstream success (AMAZING album)
Jar of Flies still stays off the radar. Not sure why.

Title: No cities to love Artiste: Sleater-Kinney Genre: Indie Rock, Post Punk Familiarity: Zero https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Cit...#Track_listing Track 1 Feel like I'm listening to Hazel O'Connor here! Powerful stuff, though I wouldn't be mad about it at this point. Track 2 Still not impressed Track 3 Nothing going on here Track 4 Just sounds like Siouxsie Sioux to me Track 5 Just not into this whole riot grrll thing Track 6 I'm really sorry to be this negative, but I can't find anything good to say about this so far. Track 7 Oh Jesus this is boring. Okay okay: the beat is interesting and the melody's not bad, but I'm a long way from considering this one of the albums of 2015! Track 8 This isn't too bad but the melody sounds a little familiar... Roger Waters, something from Amused to death? Track 9 Yeah, nothing much Track 10 This has something about it, but it's still a long way from a Love. End result: I can't remember when I was less impressed by an album. At least I keenly Hated Merzbow. This was just totally boring and passed me by. So, Love or Hate? Under my new system, and given that I have nothing good to say about it, it's a Hate. Chances of a full review:0/10

What's with the white color? Is that your way of saying "meh" now or something?
edit: nvm just saw the explanation in the OP, sounds like a good idea to nail down more accurate impressions of the albums!
