Honestly that album just feels a little bland compared to some of their other stuff.

It's good, but Clouds, Embryonic, The Terror, Satellite Heart, Priest Driven Ambulance, Soft Bulletin, and 7 Skies H3 are better.

Title: Moondog
Artiste: Moondog
Genre: Classical
Familiarity: Zero

Track 1(Love) Cool percussion and love the violins; brass works really well too. I really like the way layers of sound are built up.
Track 2(Love) Is that clarinet leading the line? Nice flutes too, but the way it powers up suddenly is very impressive.
Track 3(Love) The most beautiful mournful cello and violins open this; heart-wrenching
Track 4(Love) After that spiritually uplifting and heartbreaking rendition, the next piece is a more uptempo, breezy affair on I think clarinet and flutes mostly.
Track 5(Love) Also a pretty uptempo affair, though it slows down with a real stately, majestic grace, then picks up again. Goes through quite a few changes over its run.
Track 6(Love) A short, mid-paced piece based mostly around trumpet I think
Track 7(Love) Sort of a medieval, pastoral feel to this; quite long, in fact the longest of the compositions, broken into three movements. Gets darker and more ominous as it goes through sections like “The Prophecy” and “The Battle”, and on into “Saul's death”, then returning to the lighter tone of the opening movement as the suite comes to a close.
Track 8(Love) Sounds kind of more like an overture than a track to close the album, but still very good.

End result: This would be great music on its own merits, but given that this guy was blind when he wrote it, it's nothing short of phenomenal. Hard to put into words how good this is.

So, Love or Hate? A certain Love

Chances of a full review: 5/10

Hey not sure if you heard this one yet, but The Pharcyde's "Bizarre Ride II" is an album I'd hope you'd enjoy, none of the Hip-Hop stereotypes are present and it would probably make my top ten greatest Hip-Hop albums of all time.

Maybe abrasive is not the right word. Certainly not gentle though: like I said, I felt like I was at mass or something. Very forceful, stentorian, almost stilted style. Really hated it.
