I'll be interested to hear what he thinks about that I'm in love with that album.

I'm infinitely more interested in your reviewing Apostrophe than the album I picked, tbh. I wish I would have suggested it!

Title: Apostrophe (')
Artiste: Frank Zappa
Genre: Frank Zappa (!)
Familiarity: You know what I've listened to by now guys...

Track 1(Love) A good straight rock song; thought I was listening to CCR for a moment there! Good stuff.
Track 2(Love) Didn't realise we had moved on to track 2. Nice blues feel to this with some pretty tough gee-tar. Lyric is of course zany and ridiculous as ever.
Track 3(Love) Kind of even weirder. Sort of Spanish/Mexican feel. Hmm. Bit of gospel in there too? Even a Yes-style keyboard solo!
Track 4(Love) Very fast and frenetic. Everything so far has run one into the other; bit hard to keep up. This is the first one to actually finish and not segue into the next track.
Track 5(Love) Blues meets gospel, good spoken vocal. Great guitar solo.
Track 6(Love) This is like something off a seventies hard rock album. Again, a really slick guitar solo.
Track 7(Love) My favourite so far (with only one to go)
Track 8(Love) Good old blues tune

End result: It's okay but I don't see what all the fuss is about. Guess I'm just never going to be a Zappa fan.

So, Love or Hate? I say Love, but I don't love it. I just have to say that as I certainly don't Hate it. But it didn't really impress me much.

Chances of a full review: 0/10

Note: this does not in any way preclude any albums you were all planning to send my way later --- keep doing that, or at least keep them in mind till I have a handle on what I already have. However, if anyone can, I am looking for some good examples of the following, if you can send them to me AFTER I lift this current embargo:

Atmospheric black metal (think The Ruins of Beverast or Panopticon, that kind of thing)
Funeral Doom
Gothic Country/Americana
Ambient electronic
Modern blues/Southern Rock (the likes of Blindside Blues Band)
Good synthpop

Any of that would be good. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you won't enjoy the Saint Pepsi album, but give it a shot if you want. Not fussed which one you do first, but the latter is synth pop.

I'm going to have to impose another temporary embargo again guys. I need time to update and get through the current list, so no more suggestions until I let you know, ok? Thanks.
