As a side note about an earlier rec, which I'm unsure if I mentioned before but had meant to at some point. The interlude in the song "Ressacs de l'Âme" from that Catuvolcus album which you were wondering about possibly being played by something like classical or Spanish guitar of some sort is actually played by the bass guitarist, to my knowledge. I just wanted to mention that because you were curious, as well as because knowing that could help give you extra appreciation for the interesting work put into that section of the album.

Here's my new rec, it shares some similarities to JANVS in that it has progressive/post-black metal as a key component of its sound, but this is more consistently metal and harsher than the JANVS album, although it also has its share of calm interludes and other stuff.

Thanks man. I'm really beginning to look forward to your recs. (Now watch it all fall apart....)

Even though you have reviewed some of my recs, I still don't really know what type of music you like... So, I'll just put some random songs I like...

Les Friction - Louder Than Words (Genre: Orchestra Rock)

Maximum The Hormone - Koi No Mega Lover (Genre: J-Punk Rock)
[Also, just ignore the actual video. All I was able to find are weird AMV's, covers, and video game videos]

Linkin Park - War ( Genre: Hardcore Punk)

So, these are to go in as tracks? Not albums?

Just 3 simple tracks. I'll rec an album next. I'll have to wait, though.

I'd like to recommend you the whole album (with a different performer), but it'd probably be hard to review as it's all solo marimbas. You only have to listen to the first movement btw (which ends at around 4 minutes).

Where on earth did you get those genre tags? That was like J-pop-punk with some oddly placed, self-consciously silly screamy vocals combined with bargain basement guitar chugging. I would never call that either metalcore or hardcore punk. And I thought Trollheart got his genres mixed up.

Was still pretty fun, though.

Got some post-rock/electronic/classical stuff coming your way with this one (it is instrumental, but considering you seem to enjoy classical music I don't think it will be a problem).

I guess you're right, It's probably not Metalcore or hardcore punk. It definitely isn't J-Pop, though. I guess I should have just put J-Rock. It's just seems to change from one sub-genre to another, and I didn't really know what to tag it as. lol :P
