They're not a dealbreaker; I never said that.

If you'd read my journal over the years you'd have seen me review classical and other instrumental albums, and note that they're very hard to review, as unless you're a musician it's hard to get across the feel of an album without any lyrics. I don't hate instrumental albums; I listen to a lot of them. But they do need to interest me, especially for reviews. With a vocal, I can hear what the guy/girl is singing about and it engages me more. While I love classical music, some electronic, soundtracks etc,. I find them all very difficult to properly review. Like I said, I would listen to Herbie in the background, but ask me to describe the music and I would, as you saw, have a problem.

I did. I never said I didn't like any instrumental albums, but I need to feel it. I didn't with our man Herb.

There's nothing to understand. I've explained it above. Just as you would prefer, probably, not to listen to a long keyboard solo in a progressive rock concept album, I often find instrumental albums boring. I said it about Neal Schon's one in my journal, but Plankton's was great. So in fact was YD's Daydream Society one, and then there was David something in Metal Month II; nearly put me to sleep. I often find instrumental music can do that, make me nod off, and that's not really a help when you're trying to write your thoughts on the album...

Fair enough. I don't have a file on you, TH, it was a legitimate question.

Yeah you're totally trying to understand his position with your stupid ass loaded questions like "why are vocals such a dealbreaker" despite the fact that he has clearly loved the hell out of quite a few instrumental albums in the past, maybe go read those reviews and learn what you're supposedly so interested in

Yeah but it was predicated on an incorrect supposition, ie that vocals are a dealbreaker for me, which they're not. Probably just badly worded, I'll grant you, but you took the impression away from my review that I don't like instrumental albums, when that's not the case: I just find them hard to review. If I want to relax, and not worry about picking up things and forming ideas for a review, I can certainly listen to an instrumental. I might even listen to Herbie, though it's likely I'd listen to something slower and more relaxing to me.

And I know you do have a file on me. I've seen it. It's fat.

You are truly a ****ing idiot if you are genuinely trying to debate what my own intentions are with me as if you understand them better than I do. Maybe save your sleuthing for something that's a little more realistic. Trollheart doesn't seem to give a **** about this, why do you?

Woah. Big kahuna! Ain't the Canadian way. Gotta take 'er ease big cheese. Gear down big rig. Take the edge off a bit. Go sit in a freezer and cool off for a while big guy. Gotta put 'em side by each like they do in Quebec. Have a chill pill or eight palooca. Simmer down or you'll have to take basket weaving. Woah there. Take it down a few notches big guy. Be a big kahuna big cheese.

I never thought I'd say this, but I need more Canadians in my life.
