Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - (Shiny Beast) Bat Chain Puller

I'm predicting a love on this one.

You're still open now for new recs right? I ask just because the front page of this thread still has it saying that you're closed, but that's from the previous time you closed, so I suppose I'm good to rec you one thing for now?

I know other forum members with threads like these were just taking one rec per person at a time, and you've still yet to get to the one I rec'd but I'm quite sure, and never recall you saying that people would have to wait for their one in the queue to be finished before recing something else as long as recs were still open, but feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

Here's Cor Scorpii's debut LP for you to review here. It's not super atmospheric, but I actually think on the whole side it's more atmospheric than that Nocte Obducta album I was thinking about a while ago. Cor Scorpii -- FYI: I don't think you will want to include the final four songs there of the twelve into your review since they're actually part of the prior demo album CS released before this LP and aren't officially part of the standard 8 track album.

Lastly, it's not a big deal, but that Hail Spirit Noir album is called Oi Magoi, with an "a" instead of the "o" you had typed. Also, here's the link to it again for your convenience in case you hadn't copied the link and forgot which page it had been on. Oi Magoi | Aural Music

If that's a live album, no live albums.

Man! Who could have predicted another Beefheart from you?

I am open now and there's no need to wait until I get to your review before you can rec another; that's someone else's rule. I just have a few small rules here: nothing I've already heard, no boxsets or really long albums (like, over two hours), nothing that's recced specifically to annoy me ie something you know I will hate, and when the recs are closed the recs are closed. I'll be updating the OP shortly.

Also, anyone know if there's a way to send a group PM about this automatically, so I can tell people who are following the thread but may not see this in time? No? Thought not, just worth asking the question.

Ah **** how have I not given this rec yet?!

Mac DeMarco - Salad Days

I've no clue if you've heard it, but I think it's an amazing pop album, and you'll like it.

Why no live albums? Sometimes they're entirely different from an artist's studio work. It can also be a lot better for some artists, like Simon and Garfunkel.

Do have to recommend albums? I have something I could see you enjoying.

Cos I say so. I have no interest in listening to live albums. If you want me to hear a band, gimme their studio work. We already went through this with Tom Waits, remember? I haven't changed my mind and I won't, so you know
