Edit: I've checked back and all he did was talk about Jojo, which I've already done, and tell me I probably won't like his next selection. His last rec was just before the extension closed. Nothing since. You lose.

Title: Let's get out of this country Artiste: Camera Obscura Genre: Indie Pop Familiarity: Zero Track 1(Love) Great start; nice melodic indie rocker, like the vocalist. Upbeat and breezy. Love the organ. Track 2(Love) This is more laidback, almost acoustic. Very nice. Great guitar, kind of a Mexican feeling somehow Track 3(Love) While this one gives me the idea they're playing in some rundown dance hall for about ten people. Nice song. Track 4(Love) Lovely little waltzy ballad, sense of Folk and Country about it. Track 5(Love) Great accordion in this, and again very Folky/Country styled. Organ is wonderful too. Track 6(Love) More uptempo, again very bright and breezy with some nice almost rocky guitar. One thing I really like about this album is that none of the tracks overstay their welcome: longest is the closer at just under five and a half minutes, the rest come in around the three/four minute mark. Just long enough to really like them and wish they were longer without moaning about the songs being too long. Short, snappy, upbeat songs despite some of the lyrical matter. Track 7(Love) This is hauntingly beautiful. The cello makes it. Track 8(Love) Almost sixties Spector here. Very uptempo and I love the trumpets. Track 9(Love) Nice simple little song, almost like a child's song. Very endearing. Track 10(Love) Another breezy little song with again a sense of Mehico in it. Must be the trumpets. End result: Really enjoyed this album. Nothing bad to say about it, and as you can see, Loved every track. Must listen to more. So, Love or Hate? This is going down as a certain Love. Chances of a full review: 6/10

Important Note: As some of these albums definitely do not deserve the rating of Love or even Hate, I'm going to go back on my word and introduce the Meh category, which will be shown in white. If some kind mod could please retitle the thread to "Love, Hate or Meh?" that would be very much appreciated.
In the light of this, I will, when I have time, go back and reclassify any albums I've done where they got a Love rating and I feel they really didn't deserve it, but I didn't Hate them enough to rate them that way. I feel this is going to be more representative and won't force me to choose between the two extremes, thus coming up with an unrealistic impression of the albums. Title: High Land, Hard Rain Artiste: Aztec Camera Genre: Alt Pop Familiarity: A few singles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_L...#Track_listing Track 1(Love) I know this as it was one of their singles. Like this but not as much as some of the other material of theirs I've heard. Uptempo, cheerful, nothing wrong with it. Track 2(Love) This one sounds familiar, kind of a Prefab Sprout feel to it. Like the guitar; always liked Roddy Frame's voice. Hear elements of Squeeze in here too. The title of the album is in the chorus here. Track 3 Nice breezy little tune, if a little empty Track 4 First ballad; nice acoustic guitar line. Yeah but a bit flat. Track 5(Love) Hmm. Nice, but I'm sort of not feeling it so far. Bit bored. It'c coming across as quite bland. Guitar just there near the end is very nice, I will admit, and the backing vocals are good. In fact, this one is quite good. Track 6 Yeah it's okay; bright and breezy but again ultimately forgettable Track 7(Hate) Don't much like this one at all. Track 8 It's okay but it's not making any real impression on me. Track 9 About the only good thing about this is the harmonica and the organ near the end. I'm still pretty bored. Track 10(Love) Nice little folky acoustic tune End result: I honestly expected this to be a lot better than it was, but all I can say is that there were a few good tracks, little I really hated but nothing I could put my finger on and say it was great. Generally speaking I was unimpressed and quite bored pretty much throughout the whole thing. So, Love, Hate or Meh? This will be the first Meh. Chances of a full review: 0/10
