Saying it's not 'actual music' is basically saying that it isn't music.

I'm pretty sensitive about people denigrating an artist's work by not calling it art just because they don't like it, yes. I figured it was a general comment towards my recs though.

**** man, you know I love ya! I wouldn't do that. Don't you remember all the ways I tried to like your music in my reviews? And didn't I say I realised how important it was to you? You think I'm that much of a dick? It was just a joke.

Stop the presses! One of Trollheart's jokes fell flat today!

Fair enough, I'm aware that you respect my passion for the music but I mentioned that I thought it was a general comment towards my recs. Still, that's one of my pet peeves. I figured it was a joke but wasn't sure if it came from your genuine thoughts or not, so I had to speak up.

Note to self: a chink has been found in Frownland's armor. Must exploit.

Nice way to expose your plan.

It's possible he'd be okay with Offend Maggie. That strikes me as a little more accessible than Milk Man. (I'm not going to rec it though.)

Title: Masada Guitars
Artiste: John Zoen
Genre: Instrumental
Familiarity: Zero

Track 1(Love) Nice opener. Classical guitar? Get a kind of sad, longing feel off it.
Track 2(Love) More of a ... fuller sound ... on this one?
Track 3 Hey! Ribot is on this! Oddly, I'm not as enthused about his contribution as I have been about the other two ...
Track 4(Love) This is very nice. Has a sort of slightly prog feel about it, also quite melancholy.
Track 5(Love) Much more uptempo and fun; was getting a little bored
Track 6 Meh, it was okay
Track 7(Hate) This is like someone tuning up his guitar. For the whole track!
Track 8 Yeah, it's okay. Pretty damn bored by now though, and still another, what, thirteen tracks to go?
Track 9 Sort of medieval. To quote Batty, I really don't care any more.
Track 10() To quote Batty again, **** this ****. Wake me when the album is over. Jesus I'm bored.
Track 11 Bored
Track 12 Bored
Track 13 Bored
Track 14 Still bored
Track 15 Even more bored
Track 16 Give me a razor
Track 17 Too bored even to slash my wrists
Track 18 Please let it end
Track 19 Please
Track 20 Dear God let it
Track 21 End! Thank ****!

End result: See, what you guitar-playing heads don't realise is, if you DON'T play a guitar, or are very interested in it, this kind of ****, though well played, is boring as ****. This is why I hated Neal Schon's last solo album and why, conversely, Plankton's material is great. He uses other instruments, he makes it interesting; this guy does not. And no matter how much I like an instrument I have no desire to hear twenty-****ing –one tracks of the same damn thing without any backup whatever. No percussion. No piano. Not even a harmonica. Yes I know it's called Masada Guitars, but I really think you could only enjoy this if you're a) a guitarist b) a fan of Zorn or c) totally into guitars and music theory. None of which I am. I therefore was bored out of my skull.

So, Love or Hate? And as a result, I Hate this.
