Underrated Songs
Sometimes I'm obsessed with a particular song and wonder why people don't talk about it.
So here's a thread for that. One of my favorite dream pop/shoegaze tracks and would definitely make my top 50 or so all-time. I've seen some people talk about this album and for good reason because it's excellent, but this track in particular is utterly magnificent and worth getting the album for alone No damn clue how this album isn't more popular, I guess "progressive bluegrass" isn't something people are rushing out to listen to. Either way this track is god tier by any definition. Extremely impressive musicianship, a lovely melody with fabulous harmonies and gorgeous vocals on top of some seriously excellent songwriting. Check this album out, seriously This is actually an album we listened to in the electronic album club thread suggested by Jans, and man is it a great album. It's such a fantastic amalgamation of electronica, world music, and some seriously experimental stuff. You really have no idea what to expect from track to track, and I think this one particularly is a great embodiment of what the album's going to be throwing at you. |
This song is how my head works. This song and douce ambience are more than just songs to me, they're the rhythm of my life. it sounds pretentious i know, but it's true. Django has alot of great songs but i don't see limehouse blues be mentioned often even though to me it has one his best guitar work. |
Glasgow and Destination were pretty good, but not earth-shattering IMO.
Brocken Spectre was definitely interesting, but it's definitely too, well, experimental, for mass market tastes. I'm pretty sure I've heard of Django before, not so sure he's all that "underrated." |
The song I want at my funeral. One of my favourite Beatles tracks. |
This song almost makes me forgive Mike Love for being such a jerk. Seriously, though, this song makes me think of my children. |

Not sure if I'd ever heard that particular song before, just that I've definitely heard of Django before.
