Simply put, if the music doesn't have the "cool" factor to it, I don't listen to it.

E.g A lot of metalheads don't listen to rap, pop and country, but I'll give rap and pop more of a chance because at least it feels cool to listen to.

That's will be little hard to do.

What, stowing away on a ship across the world, or getting you to like Ke$ha?

Never liked country either, but then I discovered Townes Van Zandt. Even a non-country fan should be able to love him.

Not sure I'd call it country, but those are great songs.
Of course I've heard his name here and there, but I don't think I've ever consciously listened to him.

I don't really dig much, if any, straight up Electronic music. Elements mixed into other genres I can handle, but otherwise, ehhh. Not really my cup of tea.

Hip hop. I have a couple of albums but generally I find it a tiresome genre. The bragging I find really off putting. And it seems to be the same old crap regurgitated endlessly. How about an original thought? It's like hip hop = x + y + z and nobody has the brains to vary the formula.

Kind of have the same problem with metal. I love a good kick in the teeth head banger but enough with the satan already.

Which hip hop albums have you heard? Im not usually the kind of guy to try and get people to like music they don't but your view on both hip hop and metal seems pretty shallow.
