Gonna give an album of theirs a listen tomorrow.
I haven't listened to enough of Kyuss, but Welcome to Sky Valley is pretty much the perfect intro to stoner rock aside from Monster Magnet's Dopes to Infinity.

I see stoner rock as being the next/final stage of pure, non-pansy alternative rock, along with Corrosion of Conformity and Monster Magnet's Dopes to infinity, among others. Stoner rock is rock for non-hipsters.

(missing COC's classic line-up livr will be one of my greatest regrets, unless God sees fit to take pity on me and bring them back around to my neck of the woods)

[QUOTE=mythsofmetal;1679090]There are about ten to fifteen other songs which drift in and out of my top five at any given time for each of these bands, but here're the ones I'm going with for now.

Blind Guardian
"The Quest for Tanelorn"
"Sacred Mind"
"And Then There Was Silence"
"The Curse of Feanor"
"Ride into Obsession"

**** yeah, Blind Guardian!
