Default How Much Is Your Music Collection?

So, I was on discogs dicking around, and tried out the statistics display option in my collection folder. I noticed how much all of my music could go for, and I was kind of taken aback how much I've spent over the years on music. It's not as much as some other people on this site probably, but seeing those numbers makes me feel a bit better knowing a good portion of my cash does go to artists and labels I like. The rest of my money usually goes towards food, medical stuff, and instruments, and a game sometimes depending on how I'm feeling. ANYWAY, I thought it would be fun for those of us who use discogs to show much we have money wise in our collections for curiosity's sake/bragging rights.

Mine wouldn't be much more than 2,000 if I were lucky, especially since I ripped out most of the CD artwork for a display on the wall.

My vinyl is probably worth around 300-400 dollars, most of which comes from my vintage Concert for Bangladash set, which I've seen go for 100-250. CDs, if I price them all at around seven dollars, would come out to around a thousand dollars.

I sold off over 3/4 of my CDs a few years ago (out of about 3000) and because time is money, I opted for selling to local record shops as opposed to trying to sell everything individually online. Between 3-4 different record stores, I don't think I got more than $800 for everything.

That said, I must have easily spent $30-40K on music in my lifetime, if not more. A lot of music went to artists I like, but also to some I no longer like.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I've only added my favorite LPs to my Discogs collection. I've another 1,130 LPs cataloged in a static database currently valued at an additional $17,543.60 median value.

I'd once considered insuring them but actually replacing every LP would incur another $12 for each of over 1300 albums to import copies from their countries of origin... an impossible task.

I'm clearly insane.
