After a hectic week and ten posts, I think the Wild Man/Beefheart debate has finally burned itself out, Frownland. Should I post up two more contestants for the red-hot slug-fest that this thread has become?

^ Ok, thanks ! Well, in contrast to your selections, two individualistic monologues about tacky crimes, I´m choosing two altogether more wholesome songs, in which several voices join in.
From the first world we have something very simple, basic and unadorned, and from the third world, something much more smooth and sophisticated. One song reminds us of Christianity´s good intentions, while the other is apparently about its sometimes worrying track record :-

Very interesting songs Lisna. I think I know the first one (probably used in some ad or other) and although the second one almost seems to use the word acapella (I know it isn't but it sounds a bit like it) I still prefer the first one.

^ I really did lol when I read your vote. Very neat. (Shouldn´t you be in bed or something, Trollheart? Here on the American continent it´s about 7 pm.)

^ That´s a cool new avatar photo, Pet_Sounds.
I like both songs, but I'll vote for Zap Mama - partly because they're the underdog in this poll, and partly because when the soloist sings, "mmm music come through to me" it's quite a goose-bump moment. Christians: 3 Zulus: 1

The Doc Watson track has a better melody, but the harmonies on the Zap Mama track really takes it away for me.
