I'm going for "And so it goes" as well, mainly because of its beautiful melody, which surely owes something to "Jerusalem".

"Jerusalem" is patriotic hymn that has been popular since 1916, when Sir Hubert Parry put music to the words of a poem that William Blake had written in 1810. The tune sounds very English, and the lyrics are pretty good; difficult to work out their exact intention, but it's somehow about the inspiring countryside and the Industrial Revolution:-

Boyz2Men: 0
So it goes: 2
You're right, Lisna! After years of hearing the song, I only noticed its similarity to "Jerusalem" when I saw Billy Joel perform it live last year. (Burning Down and zombie kid were at the same show, funny enough.)

My vote also goes to the King's Singers, which makes it 4-0.

^ Wow! That's something! Did you meet them, by any chance? Did you even know them at the time?

Billy Joel performed "And so it goes" I presume, not "Jerusalem."

(Thanks for clearing up the mystery about who is singing the a capella "So it goes", btw.)

I hadn't even been around here a month at the time. And indeed, he performed "And So It Goes". In fact, he wrote it (but you probably knew that already).

That's a pity - It would've been so interesting if you'd met up, no?
I didn't know BJ wrote And so it goes - in fact, apart from Glass Houses, which I've played many times, and Uptown Girl, I don't know his songs at all really. Which of his albums do you think I should visit next?

The Stranger. He'd say The Stranger. Listen to that.

^ Yes, I would definitely say The Stranger, followed by Turnstiles. Which reminds me, I'm anxious for some more Allman Bros. now that exams are over. I'll PM you in the next couple days, Lisna.

^ Nothing worse than acting in haste and then regreting it later, but this last vote was eleven days ago. Are we still waiting for some last-minute swing in favor of Boyztomen, or should we consider moving -cautiously- on to a new round?

This round goes to And So It Goes. ribbons and Sartre are both on the list, but I haven't seen them around for a while, so I'll throw up my battle and if they come back in this thread I'll rearrange the list accordingly.

Sainkho Namtchylak - Night Birds

vs.

Mike Patton - A Leper With the Face of a Baby Girl

Both of these are so strange, they gave me quite a shock. I liked the background sounds on the Mike Patton, but not the vocal, which made me uneasy somehow.

After my initial surprise, I liked the Sainkho N much better as she does a good job of conveying the mysterious sounds of "night birds".

Night Birds: 1
Leper: 0

Night Birds - 2
Leper - 0

I didn't like Night Birds at first but as it progressed she started make some really easy on the ears sounds that didn't even sound human. Patton was just too noisey for me.
