Website resource: all scales with same root note?
Sometime ago I used a wonderful resource website where I could view a list of all scales with the same root note, for example I could compare the notes and formulas of e minor, e major, and e harmonic minor on the same page. Most sites will only show one scale in different keys, for example the major scale in all keys.
I haven't been able to find this website again though, has anyone run into any resources like this? Thank you! |
I don't know which site you're referring to specifically, but here are some links that you might find of use.
SC-000 ? Scales Index Page | free guitar lesson from justinguitar.com Guitar Chords musictheory.net I whipped up this chart really quick, to give you what I view as (more or less) important patterns to know (frankly, I don't care for much of the stuff on the pentatonic page). If you want my opinion, you don't need very many scales. Learn what that 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 thing means (those numbers correspond to scale degrees, in relationship to the major scale) and you're good to go. You're better off learning voicings for seventh chords and then getting a handle on building chord progressions. |
