Coolest thing ever was when Billy Joel went into "A Hard Day's Night" right in the middle of "River of Dreams". It really energized the crowd. Nothing like a well-timed cover.

Uncle Kracker has been known to sometimes play a show like a Top-40 Band....When he/they came through my area a year ago, they did three forty minute sets and played mostly covers - and a lot were "Dad Band" B.S. staple standards, like "Mustang Sally" and "Brown Eyed Girl" - punctuated with the original hits ( Ironically, one of those hits being a cover of Dobie Gray's "Drift Away")

Isn't that the definition of copyright theft though? Using someone else's creativity and lyrics to make profit? That's a textbook example of copyright theft I wonder how artists get away with it, maybe an unwritten rule? But then again, it could be a written rule I'm not aware of.
