Are there any songs that you like but think that one element of the song (vocals, guitar, drums, a certain passage, etc.) holds the track from being a lot better?

Here's one:


I think this is a great 90s alternative tune, but I think that the vocalizations in the chorus are annoying as all hell. If they did the song without that, I think it'd be a way better track.

I always thought that the Chorus to the song The Show Must Go On by Queen, was never worthy of how beautifully written and performed the Verses to the song were.

The Chorus, just never did seem to fit the song as good as it could've. (For me personally anyway).

I'm aware of this. Refer to the title pie favor. She does it better on a couple of songs but most of them I'm not into because of that.

Every song The 13th Floor Elevators did with that annoying electric jug, would sound better without it to my ears. Unfortunately, they used it on most of their songs.

^ Are we talking about the way she goes, " o - o - e" ? I don´t mind that at all. For me the song is spoiled by the way she sings the first, gutteral syllable of "ZOMbie, ZOMbie." She may be expressing legitimate anger but I have never yet been in the mood to share her outrage. She should´ve toned down the fury imo.

I´ve probably only listened to it once in my life, so I´m not 100% sure, but I suspect that Revolution #9 would be much more tolerable without the exasperating"....number nine....number nine..." running through it from start to finish.

One that stands out in particular is Danny Brown's verse on "Oh Hail No". EL-P does his thing, then eXquire delivers the best verse of the decade so far. Stop it there.

Not only did he feel out of the place (and required a pretty poor beat change), the verse itself was tame af.
