FM radio is my favourite way of finding new music. Last FM and genre-specific internet radio are fantastic at what they do, but a good radio show with variety can lead you to artists and tracks you otherwise wouldn't come across.

I find artists I'm interested in or have heard of and then I go through their albums at discogs.com and figure out which ones I like and which ones I don't. Usually the more popular the album is the better it is so I see what songs charted and how well the album did and stuff. I also find out what music inspired the artists I like and through that I can find all kinds of stuff. And I hear a lot of music I just wouldn't otherwise be exposed to by watching movies.

I never use pandora or last.fm or anything like that because no computer is gonna tell me or figure out for me what I like. I'm the only one who knows what I'm gonna like and not like.

I thought music blogs were all important for these types of things. I once lived beside a lady who was some famous producers secretary and she used to go on and on about hype machine for aspiring artists.

Spotify is one of the best for this. I've found a lot of new artists just from the Related tab.

I go to book stores or my local record shops and read or get there music magazines a lot of good stuff in them or just buy random music that looks cool that I don't know about

that's the old school way

obvs the new school seems

SPotify
Bandcamp
Pandora
last fm
YT
ITunes

I feel tho internet radio from ASIA and Europe and other places u could prob find some cool stuff but it takes more time to do that sit there and listen

The T.V show Gilmore Girls has been a good source of music for me.

If you have a youtube account and watch a lot of videos I find the suggested videos have helped me find pretty spot on things I have enjoyed.
