Enjoy your thread.
I agree with this. Batlord thinks Bush is just terrible (and a lot of other's here do as well, all of which seem to be unwilling to lay to bed their opinion that Bush rides trends or follows what will keep them current, that they rip off Nirvana and many others....) that Tool is this generic band (hardly are, they've had a bigger impact on the Metal/Prog world that Batlord obviously doesn't know of or just willingly denies exists...) and there are hundreds of bands that try to copy them, so really, those offshoot bands are the generic (thousands sounded too steep in my mind, but I digress...)

But, the other hand, I like the idea behind the thread, to know what some of my musical peers here think of what little I have shared that I like here (which I would actually say wasn't hardly enough for Batlord to judge me on, but I was genuinely curious of his opinion of me all the same...I mean, Wolfmother is hardly a band I'd say is overly impressive, just good and nothing more, I do enjoy them though...)

I've shared such a small amount of the music I am in to, that anyone here would probably assume what Batlord has of me. I'm barely even getting started sharing my music catalog.

Everything that Batlord said of me, I found amusing. But he isn't really wrong that some of those bands are pretty generic. But whether he is basing that on all the other bands that sound like the ones he mentioned, I don't know. I'd say that all the bands that rip off the ones he mentioned, are the generic groups. But that's just my opinion on that.

You just have to have more confidence in your tastes. Who cares what someone on the internet says? I know I'm always right.

Yeah, but your reaction to that band Tenth Planet I posted in the mini review the song above you thread, was pretty amusing. I'm not real big on that band, just kind of liked the song is all.

And yeah, I'm plenty confident in what music I listen to. What other's think of what I like, has had pretty slight impact on how my taste has developed over the years. But I do like being recommended new things to listen to.

Actually, I don't care what people think of my taste in music. I think it's petty to judge peoples taste in anything. I just don't like being called an old fogie, just like most here wouldn't want to be called a child, or childish.

I think that's fair enough, that's when this thread bypasses its intent and becomes a platform for personal attacks rather than musical ones.

Precisely my point. Add alcohol to that and things escalate very quickly. If BL were to say that to me in real life, I probably would have held him down and given him a wet willy.
