Fudge you, and fudge rule #7. Take that message and turn it into something useful. You're quite young, you'll understand... hopefully. Try not to be an idiot.

I've seen you talk about a select few modern groups, but I imagine either Ki pushed them on you or you just heard about them so much that you gave in to your curiosity one day when you had nothing to do but stare at your toenails. The fact that you actually do like some of these modern groups should make you reconsider your 70s elitist opinions and go forth to explore more than you seem to.
first off, I love the 1960s and 70s equally. There's some stuff (Lynyrd Skynyrd, for instance) that I think is just complete garbage/not really worth much praise at all.

Surprisingly, a lot of the more modern acts I've discovered and taken a liking to aren't necessarily favorites of my significant other. I really like groups that have a retro feel to them and don't muddy up their music with a bunch of computerized trash.

I'm currently pretty in love with Franz Ferdinand (and yes, I enjoyed them even before their project with Sparks).

I really loved that track! There's this young girl I know that introduced me to a group called Temples; they're pretty cool too.

Same. That music is for my sad feels.

I really love how you've shown me such great and lesser-known surf/garage rock groups from recent days.

You, Roxy, Goofle and Nea are my favorite people to groove with in plug.dj.

If that's the case I demand a hazmat suit.

Yeah, Temples are fab. Sun Structures is one of my favourite albums this year.

Come now, Simon and Garfunkel are good in any and every mood!

Yup, their debut was released in January '67.

Yup, their debut was released in January '67.
They had two albums out in '67 actually, Strange Days and The Doors.

That's right. I haven't heard Strange Days in a while. Must give it a spin soon.

I don't really need to be helped out. This thread is either A.) a bit of anti-social fun, or B.) a way to introduce someone to a different point of view. The fact that you're reacting negatively to criticism kind of proves my point that you're a fogie who's stuck in his musical ways. Now you're not just a fogie, but a cantankerous old fogie. You'll notice that, even with Trollheart's post against this thread, he still liked what I recommended. So, maybe I wasn't wholly off the mark?
