Albums That Sound Great On Vinyl

As I mentioned elsewhere on these forums, I finally have a record player after having been without for several years. As a result I've been delving back into my old record collection. Some things sound just fine on vinyl but also sound fine as MP3s (i.e. the three Police albums I have). Other things sound even better on vinyl than they do on in a digital format (i.e. my Sleep Dopesmoker record that I was just listening to with the volume cranked all the way up). So I was wondering, what are some albums you think sound great on vinyl?

Dopesmoker on vinyl?? I was wondering what that booming sound I heard far off in the distance was... Totally jealous.

Almost picked up a copy of Dopesmoker on vinyl one day. I got drugs instead.

One of my latest vinyl acquisitions, Throbbing Gristle's The Second Annual Report, is mindblowingly good on vinyl. Apart from that, Disco Volante is a great one as well.

I also love Renaldo & The Loaf's Songs for Swinging Larvae on vinyl because the first side ends on a locked groove that goes "boom boom crash crash boom boom crash crash boom boom crash crash crash" forever. In addition to all this these are all amazing records to begin with.

My copies of At War With The Mysitcs and Embryonic sound absolurely fan-****ing-tastic on vinyl.

I don't really notice a difference in quality between my vinyl and digital recordings, but The Beatles do sound fantastic when playing out of large speakers. When I play "I Saw Her Standing There", Paul's bass-line makes my neighborhood vibrate.

I could definitely see TG sounding good on vinyl.

Arab Strap's Philophobia will tear your heart out digitally but on vinyl it will sew you back together only to rip it out again.

In the Court of the Crimson King tracks sound even more ominous and otherworldly with old dirty vinyl crackle.

If it was recorded in analog and hasn't been digitally remastered (destroyed, that is) it sounds better on vinyl. If it's a digital recording going back to analog doesn't improve anything. You can't improve on the original master.
