It depends on any number of factors... the quality of the pressing, the quality of the vinyl, whether it was sourced from the master tape or a copy of the master, who the mastering engineer was, quality of the playback equipment, cleanliness of the vinyl & needle, whether the turntable has been properly set up. Lots of things can make a difference in the sound.

Of all the records I have on vinyl, Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat's latest album: Weltuntergangsstimmung is the best sounding, and probably the only one that is a big improvement on the digital version I have.
