Archers of Loaf sounds tacky but they're actually a great band.
I'm pretty sure David Berman is an MOT - his name is David Berman, after all.

As someone has already mentioned, band names that are sentences are very annoying for some reason, but I have no problem with names that don´t mean anything. After all, a name doesn´t really have an obligation to mean anything; what does Beyoncé mean, or Wayne, or Hertz? They´re just names.

^ Janszoon has beaten me to it with this observation. Some bands chose a name that is just swamped with links when you try to search for them. Two examples are the German bands Vox and Can, although to be fair they chose their names before web searching was commonplace.
Other bands, though, shoot themselves in the foot right from the start by choosing a name which is difficult to spell or pronounce. Step forward OFGKTA, the band that Machine mentioned, and Lynerd Skynerd.

HaHa ! Thanks for that clarification, Mondo!

On the same topic, has anyone else noticed that for some reason foreign bands often have foreign-looking names? I recently came across Yggdrasil and Druhá Tráva; I mean, how inconsiderate is that?

The 1975. Because their music sounds like from 1985.

OFWGKTA can be really confusing because they go by that, Wolf Gang, Odd Future, OF, Golf Wang, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, and Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All Don't Give A ****. So it gets really muddled sometimes.
