Bridges that kind of ruin the song?
 

I can't really remember a specific example at this moment, but have you ever had a song you really like but then whenever the bridge comes you're pretty much just waiting for it to be over? Like, a bridge that sucks, a bridge that kind of ruins the song, so you just ignore it.

I think Buzz Killington would tell you that any bridge only enhances a song, particularly if it's a suspension or cantilever type... :D

I wasn't aware that they had the ability to ruin music. I thought they were just there to let cars drive on. I think without them, we couldn't get from point A to point B as easily as we can.

Do You Want to Know a Secret? by the Beatles. Great song, terrible bridge. I mean, really awful. I'm getting all emotional just thinking about it. :banghead:

I think Black Sabbath's Sweet Leaf probably has the greatest guitar riff ever written. The part of the song after the verse that would normally be chorus is instrumental so it goes A-B-A-B then instead of just ripping into a short but sweet guitar solo or just hanging the song on the hook like they did with Paranoid they throw in this little kind of prog rock sounding bridge to introduce the guitar solo and it's actually really cool it's just that primary hook is so brilliant it actually makes the song a little less intense until they bring the riff back. It doesn't become an issue unless you listen to the song over and over but that riff just never gets old so I tend to put it on repeat when it comes around.

Not really a bridge, but the hook on Armand Hammer's Renaissance Garments is pretty cringe worthy. Song has a fantastic beat and great lyrics but that hook makes me skip the track sometimes.

Don't know whether it's really a bridge, but the constant repetition of "Cigarettes, ice cream, figurines of the Virgin Mary..." (especially towards the end) of King Crimson's The Great Deceiver almost ruin an otherwise awesome song. I've heard those are the only lyrics ever written by Robert Fripp. I wonder if that's a reason.
