Calling all MB musicians: request for ya
As we all know, there's a massive wealth of talent here at MB that most of us don't even realise is there, never mind actually experience. I'm planning/hoping to highlight this in a new section in my main journal, possibly called "The Showroom", where I'll review albums or EPs or just music (though preferably one of the two former) from youse guyses.
Is everyone ok with me doing that? Is there anyone who would prefer I didn't showcase their music? Would anyone like to talk about any aspect of this? It won't be happening right away, and I've already permission from Plankton to review his second album, so that will be the first one up. But I don't want to just go in here and trample on anyone's feelings or rights. So if you want to talk to me about this concept, negatively or (hopefully) positively, you can do it here. I'll be happy to include any bio or other information you want me to, and to link anything you want, within the rules of the forum of course. My plan is just to go into the "Artist's Corner" thing and listen and grab for review, but if you specifically want to send me other material, or divert me away from stuff you'd prefer I didn't review (works in progress, rough drafts etc) then you can let me know, and if you want to send me links for albums or music you would like reviewed that isn't here, you can do that too. Just a chance for you guys to get your music to a very slightly larger audience and maybe get some feedback on it from the man who makes a short review into a three-volume epic. You know I won't hurt your feelings if I can avoid it, but you know by now also that I won't sugarcoat it if I don't like your music. Anyway, up to you. Let me know if you have comments or suggestions or questions or death threats. Peace! TH

I'm actually doing this in The Scrap Heap as we speak. Right now, wolverinewolfweiselwildebeestwatercresswichitapige onperson's demo is about to go under the microscope. Don't let that deter you from carrying on, though.

Well, the more exposure our budding genius get I guess the better... Maybe we can compare notes at some stage.

Yeah. That's NOT how you do it. Members here get established before they can post music, if they want to. This isn't a free platform for noobs. You need to earn your place here before you get reviewed. Nice try.

Hm. Another one of Trollheart's "similar" ideas. I'm beginning to see a pattern.
