How much of the music you liked as a teenager do you listen to today?
I realize there's already a similar thread, but I believe this is different enough to justify its existence.
Quite simply, how much of the music you liked when you were a teenager do you still listen to? |
I am still a teenager, but when I first really started listening to music, Nu-Metal was where I began. I occasionally listen to the odd Nickelback song for nostalgia reasons, and the odd rap metal song, but other than a song, I just can't enjoy it any more.

Not much actually. Heck, I haven't listened to a Zeppelin CD in ages. Thing is, the occasional play on the radio while I'm out driving around is enough of a fix for a lot of my old classic rock band faves.

There's a large chunk of music or bands I really never listen to anymore from when I was a teenager. Some of it is nu-metal, some of it is metal, some of it is hard rock, some of it is classic rock, so on and so forth. Taste in music does change as you age, even if it is just somewhat.

None.

There's really only a select few artists that I listen to on a repeated basis, and of those only The Stone Roses qualify as music I listened to regularly as a teen. So to be honest, I don't really get around to listening to much of what I listened to in my teen years.
But when I do eventually pop on some Kings of Leon/Cage the Elephant/popular Hip Hop of that time etc., I usually end up enjoying it. |

I still listen to plenty of music i liked as a teenager from 13-16, 17-19 was dirty crustpunk days and I don't look back on them fondly. I haven't really changed much. Now I just work instead of going to school. With some stuff though I do have to be in the mood for it. I'd lke to think I had/have pretty good taste. Still love The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, My Bloody Valentine, Bauhaus, Jawbreaker, Descendents, absolutely love Black Lips, Dinosaur Jr, Hot Snakes, Ovens (from SF), Pixies, Ramones, Superchunk, Ty Segall, Velvet Underground, Buzzcocks... just off the top of my head. There's plenty of bands I listen to now that I either just didn't know about at the time or that didn't come out while I was a teen that I would've loved then too.
