I don't listen to Beyonce, but I can still bring the chorus of "Crazy In Love" to mind without much effort. I don't listen to Frank Sinatra at all, but I can still name several of his songs, and know a little bit of how a few of them go.

And I stand by what I said about Vanilla Ice being a bigger icon than Janet.

Being able to recall a song does not make that singer an Icon. It involves much more. There are a ton of songs I can recall but that does not mean those singers are Icon's.

There are a ton of rock legends that are Icons but if you were to ask me to name one of their songs, I wouldn't be able too.

Does that make them any less of an Icon?

No.

This is a very weak argument that doesn't prove anything because I can ask this question from other people from a different forum and get way different responses.

You make it seem like Janet is this unknown act and she is not based on the a few of the responses from this thread from other members who don't just listen to rock music, its clear she is not an unknown act.

Its embarrassing you would compare her to Vanilla Ice (who I honestly can not recall a single song from or any iconic moments/albums etc)
