lol ok

I never said she was on the same level as Michael, NO ONE is but that still does not change she is an Icon
Until a little while ago, I'd never even heard of Rhythm Nation, and I'm willing to bet a large percentage of even this forum hadn't either. I'm sure I've listened to a few of her songs, but not for years. Seriously, no one on Earth has ever listened to a Janet Jackson album. Not once. And don't say you have, cause you're clearly living on Mars. Nobody remembers anything about her except for her name. That's it. If it wasn't for that she'd be just another forgotten footnote in music history.

So wait, is somebody considered an icon if you are not even aware that this icon exists? If she is an icon, wouldn't I know something about her. Because all I know is her name. Then again, this is coming from a person who found out who MJ was the day he died.

Of course. He showed the world that recording 4 minutes of silence is bankable. What a legend more like.

Alright, yeah, your opinion is irrelevant. Go stand in the corner.

You did provide reasons. However, none of those things you mentioned has made a cultural significant impact on pop culture. None of what you mentioned has been groundbreaking for music.

Just curious. Would you say Iron Maiden are Iconic. I mean, their live performances are considered the best. Also their album covers. And their mascot. Are they Legends or Icons?

And The Bodyguard an iconic moment? That movie is utter gash and I'd be hard pressed to find a person of my generation who has seen. Heck, I'd struggle to find many that even know who Kevin Costner is.

But YOU do LOL

You know about the movie lol

The movie is an Iconic moment mostly because of the soundtrack and "I Will Always Love You" the song.

Is this because YOU don't listen to her?

This seems like a exaggerated assumption.

She is one of the biggest selling artist of all time.

And at one time sold out stadiums

So I highly doubt that.

Nope those are objective facts. I still have not seen you say why Kanye is not an icon.
