It will pass, I'm sure, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced the same feeling, and if so, how they snapped out of it.

Not me. I've been on a music odyssey, and it shows no signs of stopping. I wonder what my destination is...

Going in there put me off music.

I've only been in there 3 times and every time some cunt would play some 8 minute long post hardcore crap.

Each to their own I guess. Just suggesting a way. Also you do realize their is a snooze button. Also you do realize you are being a cunt yourself for saying that.

Urban Hat€monger ? was talking about something happening in plug.dj during the old version, before they had the Snooze button function. As for me, one bad song here or there is tolerable - I mute it... or look for new material or set up the next song or listen to my own music. I use a bad song to my advantage. tbh I'm no different then him, I have left plug on a few occasions cause I couldn't get into what was being played.

I don't know who he is refereeing to about post Hardcore... too bad he formed his opinion on plug on those few incidents. I've been around plug in different (virtual) rooms and the musicbanter room is the most diverse and for the most part laid place there, except for a few incidents. Compared to other rooms here is no force "wooting" to stay in the dj queue, no pressure to join a facebook page, no limits to play within a certain decade or genre, or to play Pop or Pop songs, no requirements on what language the band sings in. Everything from The Ink Spots to Gentle Giant to whoever's out now (idk) has been played in there. Too bad you and Pet Sounds didn't join plug earlier.

I feel to a certain extent the effect of the new update of plug slow down the momentum. Some people lost their accounts or couldn't retrieve them and it took a while before people got back to using it. And not to mention what happen to Paul. The members who uses plug changes from time to time. If any reason why I didn't loose interest in plug all that time, I would have to say it was because of the company I kept there. like Paul, Mondo, Silenzio, Bulbasaur, Exo, Steph, WD, whitelake etc

If you're happy with where you are in music right now then there's no need to beat yourself up over not exploring, if you start to get sick of listening to the same albums over and over you'll naturally seek out new ones.

This, I play Pandora a ton and when I hear something new with a particular sound to it I go on youtube looking for other music like it.

Love Pandora has done wonders for me in terms of finding new music.
