Most overrated bands
Excuse me if theres a thread already about this. Searched but couldnt find any, just random posts on random threads where people use this word.
For me...and i guess i'll be crucified, happens everywhere, one of the most overrated bands i can think about is Nirvana. I can say they were good. They were, still are, a symbol. However, in my opinion, people exaggerate. Thinking about grunge as a wide and open genre (we call grunge to so many different sounds of different bands), i honestly can write a top 5 which doesn't include nirvana. Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, Mudhoney, Mad Season, Jerry Cantrell own project (more hardrock, i know), well, i guess you get the point. Not even in "grunge" Nirvana is the top one. Ofc, just a matter of personal taste. |

I think the Rolling Stones are overrated, as are the Beatles. Love Beatles, but so many of their fans are just myopic. Stones, I like Their Satanic Majestes Request and a few singles, but think they were pretty generic.
