Yep, that's exactly what I said to her. She still pronounces it as "Ramóns" though.

For years my mom thought Roy Orbison was blind. Not just because of the glasses but because of the way he 'acted'. My Step-dad and my step-sister in law like to argue about whether Johnny Cash's first wife was black. Neither of them is a pronounced Johnny Cash fan, so I don't know why they would care, but it's become a real bone of contention. I finally got the new Johnny Cash bio but I don't think I will tell them what I find out. They definitely make family dinners more lively.

If you play Stairway to Heaven backwards you can clearly hear these two phrases.

"Here's to my sweet Satan" and "I sing because I live with Satan."

Maybe this isn't the right place but, here's a couple of lyric misquotes from friends:

Eric Clapton - After Midnight
"Captain midnight, we gonna let it all hang down"

Rush - 2112
"We are the priests, of the devil, I'm serious"

Yes, they insist. It's too funny to show them they're wrong, so I go with it.

I can understand mishearing lyrics but how in the hell do you mishear it when it's the title of the fucking song?

Some people just baffle me.

My mom, who's a huge Billy Joel fan, still thinks the lyrics to Leningrad are: "I was born in '49, a Cold War kid in the coffee time."

I've mentioned to her that it's "McCarthy", not "the coffee", but she must forget, because every time I hear her belting it out, it's always incorrect.

That actually made me laugh. I imagined Geddy actually singing that bit and it cracked me up. He's serious.

We use to play the version from All The Worlds a Stage back in the late 70s, early 80s when disco was still going strong. Imagine a dance floor filled with polyester clad folks trying to work a groove to Overture.

Has he even bothered to look at any of his albums? I mean, misspell the artist's name on one, bad. Misspell it on them all? Buddy, you got a lawsuit on your hands!
