I can't logically answer that question. I loved both albums but Roots has always just had a hell of a lot more replay value for me.

No, redundancy would be the fact that I put Master of Puppets on there twice. Having different albums from the same artist is just a sign of a huge fan.

I wasn't really going off of my favorites, just popularity and consumability. I'd say that if you're new to Monster Magnet that should be your first album to listen to.

Miserable had much better production but is just a cut beneath SWD on most other levels.
