This has been a great year so far, imo. Really digging these.

1. Matana Roberts - Coin Coin: Chapter Three River Run Thee
2. Six Organs of Admittance - Hexadic
3. The Pop Group - Citizen Zombie
4. Keiji Haino, Jim O'Rourke, & Oren Ambarchi - Tea Time for Those Determined to Exhaust Every Bit of This Body They've Been Given
5. Jesus the Carpenter - Thunder Music
6. Alio Die and Lorenzo Montana - Holographic Codex
7. Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - A Year With 13 Moons
8. Peter Brotzmann, Keiji Haino, & Jim O'Rourke - Two City Blues 2
9. Thou/The Body - Released From Love/You, Whom I Have Always Hated
10. Jeff Bridges - The Sleeping Tapes

And that's just off of the top of my head.

Really looking forward to the GY!BE. Unexpected. Also, another one of my favorite artists has announced a new album!

Yes! After everything that happened with her last single, I'm eager to see what direction she has went in.

I didn't particularly like her last single, but I didn't have a spazz attack about it either. I loved "Visions" myself, but how she portrays herself in the media can be a bit annoying, especially that thing with Ariel Pink. I really think whatever causes she may be fighting for are hurt by her knee jerk reactions to unsavory things said by people.

I like Armand Hammer a little bit better but his solo stuff is still incredible.

Misguided or not, the industry could use more outspoken women, so her outbursts typically don't bother me (I also just dislike Ariel Pink in general, so there might be some bias there). I enjoyed "Go" more than most people, and though I understood the backlash, I was kind of mortified when I found out she scrapped the entire album she had been working on up to that point. Maybe it was terrible, maybe it wasn't, but the only thing worse than an artist who sacrifices their vision to cater to the market is one who does the same to cater to rabid, unreasonable fans. I mean, the thing was originally written for Rihanna. She put it out for fun, and people were ****ing livid. It was ridiculous.

Katatonia - Sanctitude (Mar. 30)

I am curious if they'll continue their trend of being nearly almost good.
