Ok, perfect evening would be this:
It starts off at 8 p.m. with Boards of Canada, just chillin' and relaxin' to some great IDM tunes. No beer yet, that would ruin the experience. I just want to feel like I'm in ****ing space (hmm, maybe some drugs?). At around midnight, Tom Waits will do a three hour performance. I'll probably be in awe for three hours straight. Then, at around 3 a.m. Guided by Voices, performing a 5 hour set until eight in the morning, and I will shouting along with every song. Then I can die happy (I am probably dead by then, but who cares, it was the most awesome night of my life) |
Radiohead
Beatles Gorillaz i think that would make a great show especially if they all performed otgether playing eachother's songs |
all right **** it, I'll be the lame-o
Dream Bill: Zeppelin Stones Beatles there. |

Sexy Pee Story is great but Cunning Stunts is sentimental to me. If I heard it live, I would probably smile and cry the entire show. Curious to see your picks for the ideal concert, Bob. *insert gay smiley here* |
Faust playing a selection of songs from their first 4 albums.
The Clash The Misunderstood. Obviously a time machine would be needed. |
Swans
Godflesh Neurosis I think this would be a great show, though it would probably be followed by a mass suicide. |
The Clash
Lagwagon At The Drive-In That'd be mine. Lagwagon I just plain love and I've wanted to see forever, the other two had amazing energy and made some of my favorite albums ever. Edit: and if we're doing setlists... ATDI: Arcarsenal One-Armed Scissor Pattern Against User Give It A Name Hourglass Cosmonaut Lopsided Napoleon Solo Invalid Litter Dept Catacombs Lagwagon: After You My Friend Billy Club Making Friends Train Gun In Your Hand Heartbreaking Music Change Despair Mr. Coffee Violins Mission Unaccomplished Sad Astronaut The Kids Are All Wrong/May 16 The Clash: London Calling Safe European Home I'm So Bored With The USA White Riot English Civil War Janie Jones Brand New Cadillac Hitsville U.K. Death Or Glory Tommy Gun I'm Not Down Rudie Can't Fail Somebody Got Murdered Encore: Clampdown Straight To Hell Stay Free |
The Clash
The Beatles Babyshambles I think if I ever had a time machine and saw the Clash I'd cry and scream like a little girl. I don't think I could handle it |
Well I'll do my dream shows
The pretentious not so indie kid in me dream show The National Sufjan Stevens The Hold Steady The incredibly pretentious hipster kid in me show that I would die to see Madeline Ava Paul Baribeau Ghost Mice The ultimate show: Laura Stevenson and the Cans The Mountain Goats Tegan and Sara |
Carissa's Wierd

I would definitely need a time machine. New York, early 80s, Sonic Youth around their 'Confusion Is Sex' period, Swans at the same time and Glenn Branca to rein them all in. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have any hearing left after that, but...lose some, gain some.

i would travel to 1986 and see Swans record the live album Public Castration Is A Good Idea (only i would insist that they squeeze 'Blackout' in the set and end it with an ungodly long version of Time Is Money (Bastard) )....before that would be a hefty Sonic Youth set consisting of songs leading up to and including EVOL....and to open this glorious evening i would want the young insane rantings of David Yow and Scratch Acid...who only have a rather short LP at this time...so i say they could just do the entire album |
^^Wow! Oh and Scratch Acid. Thank you for bringing them up. I haven't heard them in god knows how long. I have to fix that.

Hank Williams
Townes Van Zandt Woody Guthrie I want to see each man just get up there with nothing but a guitar and just sing whatever they want to sing. Just play. Could spend hour upon hour upon hour listening to that. |
The Residents
Fushitsusha Fantômas That'd be one hell of a show. |
Sick of It All
Insane Clown Posse Beethoven I just want to see what happens when their respective fanbases intermingle. |
