Are there any good mainstream bands, artist, or music worth listening to in your opinion?

Why do so many music enthusiast have a problem with mainstream?

This thread is dedicated to individual opinions concerning their thoughts on the subject.

Thanks for your reply in advance. I've been debating this particular subject with a few of my friends recently, and I was wondering as to what are some of the other individual opinions concerning mainstream music as well.

What are the negative aspects concerning mainstream? :)

Janelle Monae is pretty solid and most of Kanye's Yeezus was pretty good as well (save for Kanye). And there's also Arctic Monkeys. That's all I can really say.

Because there's too many poorly written love/sex songs and ex girlfriend songs, and that annoys the hell out of me, even with bands that do it too that I like, but it's much more prevalent in mainstream music it seems.
Also I don't tend to like much music that has electronic sounds in it, sadly.

I don't know, it usually just doesn't interest me. But there's plenty of rock artists for example I like that are mainstream, at least I think so, If I look at the youtube views of some of their singles...
