Modern Phil Spector Sound?
Hi, I am trying to discover new music. Recently have been into songs that have a more modern take on Phil Spector sound. Examples being Daddy's Gone (Glasvegas), I'm Waiting Here (David Lynch & Lykee Li), some Pixies stuff. Almost like a dark modern Wall of Sound. I know this is pretty specific but any suggestions of songs, artists would be great!

I'll say what I always say and suggest Spiritualized. I do like other artists, honest!
But no, seriously, Spiritualized are great. The album of theirs that's the most Spector-like is Let it Come Down, but Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space is pretty much perfect and has moments (like "Cool Waves") that seem up your alley. I also would recommend their most recent two albums, but if you don't like those first two I mentioned you probably won't like them either. |

I don't know any current groups with a true Wall of Sound, but Grizzly Bear and Fleet Foxes both have retro-sounding harmonies. I don't really know if they're what you're looking for, but they're worth a listen.

Maybe this is what you've got in mind? This is more semi-Wall of Sound stuff, especially the first song. But you need to listen to it on headphones or really good speakers.
