Cool What do you want to see out of music platforms and music television?

Channels like VH1 and MTV are no longer geared towards music.

If you could change or add anything, what would they be doing to cater to your music needs?

they could send the Terminator back in time to...to...terminate...their...programming.

They could play music videos, maybe like alternative or indie stuff. It doesn't have to be all day, just maybe like 2 hours worth out of the whole day. They can call it "120 Minutes" or something like that.

"I pledge allegiance... to the band... of Mr. Schneebly... and will not fight him... for creative control... and will defer to him on all issues related to the musical direction of the band." - Mr. Schneebly, rather Dewey Finn pretending to be Ned Schneebly

Music platforms? What a great idea! Shoes that have inbuilt speakers so you can take your music wherever you .... oh. You did not mean that. Um....

Take every single YouTube/Vimeo video, and play them all non-stop. They'd have to qualify to a certain degree of parameters though.

Just a thought.

I like to see the return of the 80s/90s for VH1/MtV. Mostly music videos and talk with the oddball tv shows here and there.

They couldn't do anything to help. They might as well keep it the way it is raking in their moolah with the reality shows and the couple of tv shows here and there.

The MTV offshoots play music videos all day. MTVU, MTV Jams(mostly hip hop) and I think there are like two more. MTVU covers all the indie stuff and they have a block called Clubland that covers EDM.

VH1 Classics and Soul constantly play music videos most of the day.

The main two channels don't really need to change anything they are doing when they have their off shoot channels still dedicated to music.

Can you get MtVU at home? I thought that was a college thing. You do bring up good points. I didn't know those channels exist since I don't really watch tv. My thought seems redundant now.

I just imagined giant platform boots with an endless loop of KISS' "Rock and Roll All Nite" blaring out the toes.

Yep you can get MTVU at home. You aren't alone with the whole not watching tv thing. Even though they do have all of those channels. They most likely don't have big audiences like back in the hayday that everyone likes to reminisce about the regular MTV playing videos.

Why would you wait for your favorite video when you can just pull it up on youtube?

Internet killed Video Music Television.
