Great track about religious disillusionment from Ozzy called "Diggin' Me Down"

"How will I know you, Mister Jesus Christ?
Have you already been here once or twice?"

great line.

If we're talking about Electric Hellfire Club then I can't not mention this...

There's like.... hundreds of bands I've listen to that portray such feelings almost exclusively.

But this one always got to me. The cast out Lucifer, ****ing betrayed by whom he knelt for, and... well, **** my poetry, here's the lyrics. It touched me so much I performed it in high school drama class.

Spoiler for Big Lyrics:
Adonai, elohim, el shaddai...
Thou hast become the father of lies,
And I serve thee, henceforth... no more

Becoming thus the essence of sedition;
The steadfast gleam of the unsheated rapier,
The falchion's forceful thrust
At the heart of thy empire... the adam kadmon
To impart the knowledge - the cognizance - of thine

For this I slither in aspect through Eden's gleanings
For this I bid Cain slayeth his brother
For this I rend the weakest salient of thy diadem,
As I, its jewel and very metal shall reflect no more
Your light - the light of enslavement;
The essence of constancy and misaligned justice
To a multitude that knows no freedom...
Ignorant of how subtle the fetter tightens

They shall raise me a saviour - and crown thee a liar
For this I strike with balanced blade,
And spit upon the throes of thine angels' desire

I will not serve... henceforth

-End Spoken Word Portion-

Behold the skies, they're full of lies... in disguise
Behold the skies, they're full of lies... in disguise

O, creator, so long we have fallen to our knees
So long we have murdered our honor, while protecting thine

Behold the skies, they're full of lies... in disguise
Behold the skies, they're full of lies... in disguise

And we, warriors moulded in the blood of his vanity
The silent, loyal shepard who tends my light is dead... in me

So let the night take thee in her arms,
And dry these tears into her embrace
It's the end of pretending and defending...
God's holy light

El-shaddai, we serve the, henceforth... no more

Show me heaven, show me guilt... embrace the pain
We must suffer to realize, we must despair again and again
No longer our knees we shall bend, no longer fold our frozen hands
We long for the darkness, our flames still burn for mother night...
Behold us now, as we cry, soon to die... to rise again

Behold the skies, they're full of lies... in disguise
Behold the skies, they're full of lies... hear our cries

I have seen us bathing in blood to defend his very glory
I have seen us kneel and praise for nothing...
I have seen him dying in our eyes
I have realized that god owes us his life

The slightly less poetic version. Awesome band BTW. Only brutal death metal band I can think of that actually somehow manages to be accessible without being any less brutal than Suffocation or Cryptopsy.

Quote:
He kneels to no man he kneels to no god
Helel Ben-Shachar

Lucifer he said no to god
Strongest of the strong with a mind of his own
Lucifer fallen angel
Cast out of they skies a threat in god's eyes

Defy he defied the word of god
To no ****ing Adam shall he kneel

I don't know many people angrier then Dino, not only is he an outstanding drummer he sounds like he is one verse away from cutting someones heart out. Long live Dystopia

Bit of rare anti-religious rage from Alcoholica.
