The Final Word On Noel Gallagher
Yes he was in that band called OASIS and then after great consideration formed a new band and recorded his own album. So what is the final word on this artist?
Is he really perhaps one of the most talented song writers of our generation????? |

huh.. i didn't know he started a new band, what's their name?
i like Oasis and i do think he is a talented song writer but i wouldn't call him one of the best of our generation.. he would make the list but i wouldn't put him in my top 5, maybe in my top 10.

I never thought Oasis were anything more than an overhyped, mediocre rock band.
I had no idea that Noel Gallagher had another band until I saw the first post in this thread. Can't say I have any desire whatsoever to check them out to hear what they sound like. |

I quite enjoyed the album, "What`s the story? (Morning Glory)". It had some good tunes and the kind of teasing post-modern references to an earlier pop era were fun while they were novel... but it was a trick that doesn`t bear repeating.
Their lyrics never made much sense, and as for lines like " ....I had a sister, on her hand she had a blister" - well, for hearing that, once in a lifetime is too often in my opinion. ^ So I`m sorry, neardeath, my answer to your question is no. As I understand it, NG already has a sufficiently inflated opinion of his own talent -no need for us to add fuel to the fire of his conceit.

The lyrics were definitely their weakest point for me.
