This thread got me motivated to dig into my collection and come up with some more examples of poster art by some of my favorite artists. Frank Kozik has been at the top of my list since I first saw his work in the late 1980's. Unlike some artists who tend to stick with an easily identifiable style, Kozik works in many different styles which is probably one of the reasons why I find his art so interesting. Of all the artists represented in my collection, his work makes up the largest percentage of my concert posters. A few examples...
Jesus Christ Super Fly (1993) I have this one framed and hung in my bedroom. Butthole Surfers with Stone Temple Pilots (1993) This one is a pun on the Sam Peckinpah film "Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia." I've been meaning to get this one framed for some time. The Melvins (1993) Another one I have framed and hung in my bedroom. Cows (1992) I used to have this one framed and hung directly above the TV set in my living room at a previous residence. It is currently hanging in my music room. Boss Hog (1993) Also hanging in my music room. Surgery (1993) Another one hanging in my music room. Untamed Youth (1992) Yet another one hanging in my music room. Last edited by Psy-Fi; 07-05-2014 at 05:18 PM. Reason: Had to remove a poster. |
